Promoting the Development of Technology
Reverend Moon has dedicated his entire life to only one mission realizing a God-centered world of peace and one global family centered on true love. To achieve this, he has carried out a great variety of projects touching on many fields of human endeavor for the sake of the spiritual enlightenment of humankind. These include the propagation of his teachings through the work of missionaries, plus cultural, artistic, educational and social services.
Reverend Moon has put considerable emphasis on economic development as a means of supporting his work. Such ventures are only one aspect of the many Unification Church-related activities, and are undertaken for the purpose of bringing the commercial world into alignment with God's will and for the realization of social well-being.
Ventures related to the ocean and to energy production have been established in America and elsewhere. Moreover, a leading machine-tool company was acquired in Europe, as well as a machine parts factory for Tong-Il Heavy Industries and a local production factory in America. In China, a nation which will be a partner to Korea in the coming era of Pacific development, the Panda car company was initiated, and another automobile company is being set up in Vietnam.
Investments by a machine-tool company in Germany have helped boost the economies of less developed nations in Africa and South America.
Il-Hwa, whose main line is ginseng products, Hankook Titanium, the only domestic titanium-producing company, Il-Shin Stone, and Tong-Il Heavy Industries, which presently plans to set up joint ventures in America, Germany and China, are some of the industrial projects which are standing in the front line to boost the welfare of Korean society.
The Foundation for the Support of HSA-UWC was established on October 4, 1963 to manage all these industries in Korea. It lends full support to the domestic businesses and the maintenance of all church-related properties.
Tong-Il Heavy Industries

A work force of five thousand is employed by the company. Contributing to the engineering capacity of the nation, the company was appointed to the manufacture of vehicle axles, axle shafts and transmissions, and the production of machine tools as well as the production of other standard vehicle parts, in 1978. It took over Dongyang Machine Inc. and was cited as a first class quality control company in 1983. Tong-Il Heavy Industries has also set up a vehicle component factory at Chongdo, in China, as a bridgehead for making inroads into the Chinese market.

Its main products are stone materials for construction, produced at sizable facilities located at Ichon in Kyung-gi province. With its origins in Jeonju, where it was launched with just ten million won of share capital, it earned an "Export Tower" Award on the 20th "Export Day" for exports totaling ten million dollars, and the Finance Minister's award on the 19th "Tax Day."

International Oceanic Enterprise
International Oceanic Enterprise was founded in 1974 with the object of solving the world's food-supply problem. To this end, it plans to provide underdeveloped nations and Africa with food aid through food from the sea. Observing that people were hungry in many parts of the world, Reverend Moon realized that the vast seas could solve the food problem. Annual sales of International Oceanic Enterprise amount to two hundred million dollars. Affiliated companies include the Master Marine shipyards in Alabama and New Jersey, a fish-processing plant, a distribution company dealing in a wide variety of marine products, sixty sea food restaurants and twenty coastal fishing bases located in Alaska, Seattle, and Alabama.
