Anyonghaseyo, dear brothers and sisters!
Here again some inspiration, based on the words of True Family:
True Father: "The spirit and body are to unite only through love, not through anything else." [1]
We might try to dominate our body by willpower. But if the willpower does not come from love then it is not the ideal:
True Father: "When you embrace the universe, you embrace yourself. What kind of self? The true self. When a person achieves that, his mind and his body are entirely harmonious and united. In that case, you will never put the desires of your body before the desires of your mind. Your mind will be the master of your body. When your mind is filled with true love, your body will be obedient to your mind. That was God's original ideal." [2]
The true self is filled with true love, divine love, a love that resembles God's unconditional and unchanging love. By the power of such love the true self dominates the body. Then we have the ideal mind-body-unity. Without our mind being filled with true love, divine love, we cannot speak about the ideal mind-body-unity.
We can try to subjugate our body by willpower, but God wants us to use our body with the heart of divine love, not just based on willpower. Mere willpower would be too external and can stop at some time soon. Divine love however is unchanging, and it can control the body forever.
True Father: "In a way, love is like glue, binding and cementing together all the cells of humanity. This is why love is universal and love is good. The action of love is ultimate. Therefore, without love everything would fall apart. The action of love unites subject and object and mind and body." [3]
Not only the unity between mind and body, but also unity on all other levels needs to have divine love at the center:
True Father: "Without love, unity cannot be attained. Words alone are not enough to unite two different people into one. Then what is needed to unite them? If they are united around material things and the material things disappear, they will simply separate. Suppose a third person introduces them and they unite by some means or another. If that third person disappears, they will separate. Then what is necessary for two people to be joined together as one, eternally? There must be love." [4]
Husband-wife-unity also must be based on divine love:
True Father: "The power by which the man can have dominion over the woman and the woman can have dominion over the man is love. No power other than love can enable them to take dominion over each other; only love has dominion." [5]
As husband and wife dominate each other by divine love, their unity is perfect and cannot be destroyed by anything.
But, as True Father said, first of all we need to find our true self. That means we need to make the divinity in ourselves blossom. And this we do by constantly striving to love all the people that we come across with an unchanging, unconditional and forgiving love. Then our spirit becomes energized and it becomes easier to subjugate the body with such a spirit of love:
True Father: "As soon as you try to love people, the energy of God automatically comes to you, making you a powerful individual." [6]
And by striving to love people with a Godly love we come to make the divinity in ourselves blossom, which means we find our true self as designed by God:
True Father: "Once you reach the divine mind within you and come back out to the world, you will find that God is already before you; thus nothing will be able to disconnect you or overcome you. " [7]
Our unity with God will be perfect as well. And the more we grow in love the more will we understand the heart of God and True Parents:
True Father: "Your gradient of influence and power is based on how much you are growing. Ultimately you will become like the original center, like a sun which generates energy rather than the moon which reflects energy. By practicing this you can come to fully understand my situation and God's loving heart. Only then can we have oneness and common pride between us. There is only one main stream, and it is connected to this way of life." [8]
There is nothing more important than to be in this mainstream.
