Mrs. Yeon Shil Yang continued to read Father's speech, titled "New Awareness", which was given at the former Korean headquarters on Dec. 8, 1968.

"Whenever you go somewhere, you must be aware of where the sun rises, and adjust yourself as the objective partner, not as the subjective partner. Our good ancestors, when they got up, they were aware of where the east is. That's why we say in Korean dong, seo, nam, buk (east, west, south and north).

Likewise, which comes first, men or women? In Korean we say men and women, and we do not say women and men. Why do men go ahead before women? It is because men must protect women, and women tend to escape from scary things. Women do not have the subjectivity men do."
