May God and True Parents’ blessings and love be with brothers and sisters in all regions, mission nations and providential organizations.

The Wongu Peace Cup Tournament (working title) will be held in conjunction with the October 14 special Blessing Ceremony in commemoration of the important events in the 9th year of Cheon Il Guk: Coronation for the Authority of the Liberation of God, True Father’s 90th Birthday, True Parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary, the Rally to Bring about the Complete Settlement of Peace for the Cosmic Cain and Abel (Good and Evil) Centering on the Parents of Heaven and Earth, 55th anniversary of the founding of HSA-UWC in Korea, publication of True Father’s memoirs, and the 59th anniversary of True Father’s release from prison in North Korea. Leaders of regions and nations should carefully read the details below and do their utmost in preparing for the Wongu Peace Cup Tournament.

I. Outline of events

1. Tournament events: 13 events:

Harmony and Unity Game
Socce
Track and field (100M, 200M, 400M relay, and 1500M,
Basketball
Volleyball
Dodge ball
Table tennis
Badminton
Golf, and
Martial arts.

2. Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (main stadium, soccer field, indoor gymnasium, basketball court, etc), Korea

3. Schedule: Arrivals: October 11 / Departures: October 15-16

Opening ceremony: 9:00 am, October 12, 2009 / Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (main stadium)
All athletes and cheering squad for each event should participate in the opening ceremony.
Closing ceremony: 6:00 pm, October 12, 2009 / Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (main stadium)

4. Registration

1) Regional headquarters should report which event (games) they will participate in and the number of participants for each event by September 14. Regional headquarters should register the participants for each mission nation, compile a name list for the entire region using the attached form and submit the list by midnight, September 20 (Korea time).

5. Visa assistance

Athletes who require an invitation letter for entering Korea should direct their requests to:

6. Transportation and Accommodations

1) Details for airport pick-up, transportation and accommodations will be announced at a later date.

2) For athletes, all expenses (accommodations, meals, transportation, etc.) incurred during the tournament period in Korea will be covered by the organizing committee.

3) Winning teams and individuals for each event are scheduled to participate in the October 15 celebratory banquet (closing ceremony and awards ceremony). [Winners for individual events, two representatives for team events]

II. Details of each event

1. Harmony and Unity Game

Date: 10:00 am, October 12, 2009
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center
Entry team details

1) 16 entry teams
2) 8 overseas teams and 8 teams from Korea
3) Each team should consist of two males and two females

2. Soccer

Date: 10:00 am, October 12, 2009
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (main stadium, field-A, field-B)
Entry team details

1) 8 male-only entry teams
2) 4 overseas teams and 4 teams from Korea
3) Each team should consist of 11 players and 4 substitutes (all male)
4) Each team should bring their own uniform (if possible) and soccer shoes

Team vests will be provided.

3. Dodge ball tournament

Date: 10:00 am, October 12, 2009,
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (main stadium)
Entry team details

1) 16 female-only entry teams
2) 8 overseas teams and 8 teams from Korea
3) Each team should consist of 20 females for each game

4. Track and field

Date: 3:00 pm, October 12, 2009
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (main stadium)
Entry team details

1) 16 entry teams
2) 8 overseas teams and 8 teams from Korea
3) Please refer to the following chart for the number of athletes per team:

100M (women) -- 1 female runner
100M (men) -- 1 male runner
200M (women) -- 1 female runner
200M (men) -- 1 male runner
400M relay -- 2 male runners 2 female runners
1500M (men) -- 1 male runner

5. Basketball

Date: 10:00 am, October 12, 2009,
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (outdoor basketball courts)
Entry team details

1) 8 male-only entry teams
2) 4 overseas teams and 4 teams from Korea
3) Each team should have 5 athletes and 3 substitutes

6. Volleyball

Date: 1:00 pm, October 12, 2009
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (indoor gymnasium)
Entry team details

1) 8 entry teams (consisting of men and women)
2) 4 overseas teams and 4 teams from Korea
3) Each team shall have 9 members. Each team must include at least 3 women players.

7. Table tennis

Date: 10:00 am, October 12, 2009
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (indoor gymnasium)
Entry team details

1) 16 entry teams (doubles; consisting of men and women)
2) 8 overseas teams and 8 teams from Korea
3) One man and one woman per doubles team

8. Badminton

Date: 10:00 am, October 12, 2009
Venue: Namyangju Sports Cultural Center (indoor gymnasium)

1) 16 entry teams (doubles; consisting of men and women)
2) 8 overseas teams and 8 teams from Korea
3) One man and one woman per doubles team

9. Golf

Date: 6:00 pm, October 13, 2009
Venue: YongPyong Resort (Birch Hill Golf Club)
Entry team details

1) 15 entry teams
2) 20 players from overseas, 40 from Korea
3) Players can be of any gender
4) There will be a registration fee for the golf tournament

10. Martial Arts

Date: October 12-13, 2009
Venue: Indoor gymnasium, Chunga Camp
