What are your concerns and inspirations in passing on our church traditions to 2nd and 3rd Generations?

Concerns:

1. The potential for extremes in orthodoxy or various "messiahs" in determining tradition.

2. There is a race against time as we are all getting older.

3. A potential difference in style of leadership on matters of tradition. Examples would be an "old testament" style leadership compared to a more progressive style that is creative and open to input from the membership.

Inspirations:

1. Have the BFA update the Tradition Book.

2. Parents get more involved in 2nd Gen activities such as a Parent's Board for the STF and others. 20+ year olds are more easily influenced by the mentoring of older 1st Gen who could stay connected in healthy relationships with these type organizations.

3. Identify key traditions and create uniformity and standardize them for all Blessed families so that they can more easily be passed on to the next generations.

4. The matching is the best vehicle for ensuring that key church and family traditions are passed from one generation to the next. When parents fulfill their role as match maker they select mates that come from families that share similar religious and moral temperaments thus ensuring that key traditions are transferred to the next generation. Their children will do the same developing a tribe that is bound, nurtured and sustained by shared traditions.
