Follow the Principle For the Sake of Love

Today I was criticized for my selfish behavior by a loving brother, rightly so. I was coming across a familiar dilemma to either take the road of justification or repentance.

I realized that I was rebelling against rules, in order to demand love. I asked why not instead, fulfill the rules for the sake of giving love?!

The force of demanding (fallen) love can only be dominated by True (giving) Love. Our center is love, and only love can change us.

So, I tried to have compassion for this brother and thus I could repent. It was for his sake that I was motivated to follow the rule, not for the sake of the rule!
