Report On Parents Matching Convocation Last Weekend

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Just a quick note on the Parents Matching Convocation that we held this past weekend at UTS in Barrytown.

There were 145 participants (way more than we expected) which represented over 100 families. In some cases only one parent could attend.

We were able to set up the display boards used by True Parents during the matching that they did in Belvedere. There were about 250 pictures of matching candidates on the boards with their contact information.

We had a mixture of spiritual guidance as well as practical details and activities for getting to know each other. Rev. Phillip Schanker, Rev. Kazushi Mito, and Rev. Inguk Seo gave presentations on how to think about parenting, Blessed Children's identity, God's providence and matching.

Through 2 discussion groups in the morning and then afternoon activities like holding continuous "speed-introductions for 2 minutes", the parents were able to meet many, many other couples and hear their different experiences in matching.

A new BCCandidates website is about ready to be launched. More on that soon.

I think most of us felt that we were part of something very special and that God was very close the whole weekend and wanted to be intimately connected and involved at every stage of matching and Blessing. I sure did.

During HDH and at various points during the Convocation, members were asked to share inspirations and new realizations. Some were so profound, almost life changing realizations of what the Heavenly Kingdom would be like or getting God's perspective on our children and how He feels about His lineage that we are creating.

There was a general feeling expressed that we were all one big family and that many barriers were melted away.

It seemed like most families came out of the weekend feeling that they had really gotten a much better grasp on the whole matching process and had in hand 3 or more contacts that they were going to follow up on over the next few months.

Over this week, I will be creating a webpage with the PowerPoint presentations that were given, reflections, and pictures. With this content I think it would be possible for members in various locations to get together and create mini versions of what happened. The PowerPoints could be shared along with lots of discussions about how different families are going through the process and it would be very valuable to everyone. Maybe your area would like to hold a series of evening meetings to go over the content instead of a weekend. If you get pushed by God to do it, please heed the call.

All the best,

Jim
