RE: Planning Conference for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /College-Age Youth Ministry- June 17-18, 2006

A brief but important and urgent planning session will take place on June 17-18, 2006 at UTS in Barrytown, NY. Its purpose will be to gather a small group of our most experienced and committed youth ministers and educators to forge a united vision for educating and working with college-age Blessed Children nationwide. With the clarification of STF as a more specialized leadership training program, the need for effective and engaging programs for all college-age Second Generation has become acute. This includes the need for effective ministry for college-age youth in each local church, as well as experience-based learning programs and internships. To strengthen existing programs and develop new ones where needed, cooperation and shared vision is necessary between FFWPU and CARP, as well as between First and Second Generation educators and ministry leaders. Hyun Jin Nim has encouraged this effort, and it is the purpose of this planning conference.

A planning team of 25 1st and 2nd Generation leaders has been invited to participate, and a limited number of additional spaces are available for those both interested and qualified, based upon experience. The conference theme is: "Forging a Vision for College-Age Youth Ministry." We will convene at UTS at 10:00 AM (Registration at 9:00) on Saturday, June 17, and end at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 18. We will discuss the following, with the clear action steps to follow:

Ø Building an Effective Model for Local College-Age Youth Ministry- Best Practices

Ø Developing Experience-based Alternatives to STF for College-Age Youth

Ø CARP-FFWPU Cooperation Locally and Nationally

A registration fee of $50 for the conference will include 4 meals (Saturday lunch through Sunday lunch) and one night’s stay in the UTS Dormitory. Participation is by invitation only. Those seriously interested may apply by contacting Edward Busque at Education@familyfed.org. We look forward to your participation as we forge a united vision and working relationship for the future of our community.
