Roland Platt
April 19, 2006

Dear Families in America and beyond:

We as STF staff seek to provide the best possible training for our Blessed Children as a foundation to build a successful Blessed family and to succeed through the college years, thus preparing them to become the true leaders that this world needs. Therefore, our prayer is to constantly improve the STF program and find the very best way to serve the entire Unification Family and world.

This year, substantial changes have been made through careful prayer and reflection and evaluation of the STF program on the international level.

Starting with the incoming class of 2006, 2nd Generation who are interested in applying to STF-USA are asked to participate in an evaluation process to help them prepare for entering STF, consisting of A) application materials and B) a try-out. All materials must be received 2 weeks prior to your try-out date. All materials and forms can be downloaded from the STF website (www.stfusa.com) or mailed/faxed to you by request.

All materials should be mailed to:

STF-USA
P.O. BOX 3068
Hayward, CA 94545

A) Application requirements include:

1) An application form

2) 3 letters of recommendation: one from a teacher, one from an extracurricular activity in which the applicant was involved, and one from a local church leader.

3) An official high school transcript including teachers’ comments/behavior report

4) A short essay by the applicant on what he/she would like to gain from being part of this leadership program

5) A short essay/interview with a parent

6) A medical record

B) Try-out

One day try-outs will be held in 10 locations, consisting of a physical test, teamwork evaluation, a Divine Principle test, and a personal interview. All candidates must attend one of these try-outs in order to join STF. Some dates have been adjusted to give more time for our Blessed Families to prepare.

For those who live in Hawaii, Alaska or abroad, we will contact you to arrange your try-outs individually. In consideration of all those applicants who face college admission agreement deadlines, two try-outs will be held before May 1st, with results announced before that date. For all other try-outs, those who are accepted will be personally notified by an STF staff member by May 30th.
