Anyonghaseyo, dear brothers and sisters!
Here again some inspiration, based on the words of True Father and Heung Jin Nim:
True Father: "If you stay in the low position and try to put everyone else in a higher place, there will be no troubles. Do you understand? That is the meaning of modesty." [1]
In this fallen world people often compete or even fight for positions, power, reputation etc. People want to put themselves up, want to be in the spotlight and be praised and recognized. The result of such an attitude is conflict, mistrust, envy, etc. People become enemies of each other.
It all started with Lucifer, who refused to put Adam and Eve up. In the end he put himself up, wanting to dominate everybody and everything, wanting everyone to bow down to him. He made himself "God" of the world.
Because of the inheritance of fallen nature humankind tends to think and act in the same way. That is why we find so many conflicts and so much mistrust and envy in the world, unfortunately even among religious people and those who call themselves religious. We can call all these conflicts Cain/Abel struggles.
Cain Abel struggles are not rooted in a mature parental heart, are not rooted in divine love. Rather are they rooted in a LACK of such love, which makes people look for fulfillment in unprincipled ways, which lead to conflict.
True Father: "Always maintain the heart of a father [or mother] and take the attitude of a servant, and no spirit can harm or misuse you. He cannot make you a victim because you have the proper thoughts. Keep your relationship above that of brothers [and sisters] in which the controversy of Cain and Abel can develop. The parent's heart is ABOVE this and is in the sight of God, and is therefore SAFE."
Aju and Amen! Father gives the answer to the problem. These conflicts cannot develop if we strive to reach parental heart within ourselves. Of course, Father does not speak about the heart of IMMATURE parents. He speaks about MATURE parents, whose love is on the divine level, who love like God loves, not only their own children, but all the people of the world. True Father calls such a heart the HEAVENLY HEART, and he told us that the only thing that matters is to develop such a heart. How true!
The more we develop our heart in the direction of a HEAVENLY HEART, we will stop competing with others over irrelevant things like position, fame, power, praise etc. We will rather see all other people as those that we want to invest our heart and love into, no matter what they do or think. We will do everything to embrace and love them, to be a channel of God's blessing to them. We will not support any of their wrongdoings, of course, but will forgive, love and embrace them, as beloved children of God.
If they insult us, we will respond with kindness and love. We will not be interested in competing with them over anything, but rather in lifting them up, putting them up and bless them, instead of putting ourselves up and chasing after our own blessing. That does not mean to give up any external position we might have, but it means to practice Heavenly Heart in that position, to go down and lift all others up, with love and heart, instead of looking down upon them, in a kind of arrogant way:
Heung Jin Nim: "When the subject is always down lifting all others up, God has confidence. All historical Central Figures did this. Why? Because they came to serve, not to be served... COME DOWN and push people up."
The Heavenly Heart is ONLY interested in lifting others up, in helping them, in embracing them, blessing them, in letting them feel their value, instead of boasting about oneself. By practicing such love we are on the fast track to establish the culture of heart. We become indeed the creators of the new world of God:
True Father: "EACH of us should become the creators of this new world, as we go out to plant the seeds of true life and TRUE LOVE and represent heaven's family. Do not be so foolish as to scatter your seeds into the air, to be carried off by the winds of secular vanity and immorality. Seek the humblest and lowest position. Plant your seeds in the deepest and richest fertile soil." [2]
Again, seeking the humblest position does not mean that we have to give up any external position we might hold. "Humble position" means humble ATTITUDE, which we can have, even if we are the Prime Minister of a big nation.
Even in the highest positions we can and should have a most humble attitude and make all effort, to love ALL people the way God does. We can and should go down and lift them up, trying to make them better than ourselves. By having such a mentality of Heavenly Heart and acting on it as the focus of our life, we most certainly are planting our seeds in the deepest and richest soil, and that means, we will have a great positive impact on the providence, and not only that. God will be extremely delighted because we are doing what God is waiting for, namely for us to become children of true filial piety:
True Father: "Only ONE promise can inspire God: "I have decided to be a sacrifice in order to establish the TRADITION OF YOUR LOVE. I have been trying to live for others. All I want to do is continue living this way." Then God will reply: "Oh, I understand you well. You have accomplished the principles of loyalty, filial piety and fidelity." Otherwise you have no true pride before God, even though you work hard witnessing and fundraising." [3]
Some might think that by just putting others above oneself, loving others unconditionally, without expecting or wanting anything from them, we ourselves might miss out.
That is the way Lucifer thought at the time of the fall, and throughout history he was trying to instill this wrong way of thinking into people.
Those who think in that kind of unprincipled way, are the ones who are missing out. While those who think and act in a divine way, according to Heavenly Heart, are the winners:
True Father: "When you are living with this 100 percent commitment of true love, you don't have to worry or have ulcers. You can always have serenity and peace of mind, knowing that as you stay in the center, everything always comes back to you. You are THE WINNER!" [4]
Big applause to True Father! How wonderful! We are the winners, because divine love is the winner.
