On Tuesday, March 14th, 2006, we held our March ACLC prayer breakfast at Iglesia Cristiana Wesleyana in Kernersville, where Rev. Fermin Bocanegra is the pastor.

The pastor’s wife, Margret Bocanegra, and Sister Yuanita, soon to be a missionary to Africa, prepared a delicious breakfast for everyone.

While waiting for the pastors to come, I got to know Carlos N. from Peru. He is the grand nephew of Pastor Fermin. Carlos had come to America 3 weeks prior looking to make a new start in his life. He is a young single man, 32 years old and never married. I enjoyed witnessing to him about building a blessed central family by preparing for the matching. He showed a lot of interest and wants to learn more about it. It was good that Brother George Akah from Cameroon could be also at the breakfast. He is a living testimony of great faith. He received the matching last summer and is awaiting his fiancé to join him soon in North Carolina. He has never seen his fiancé yet, but they are making preparations to receive the Blessing this year. Seeing such a testimony of faith, Carlos accepted our invitation to join our evening cell group meeting. He came and started studying Divine Principle. Pastor Fermin and Margret were very supportive and told me that also Yuanita needs a husband. We want to help Pastor Fermin to guide his 2 young candidates to the Blessing.

In the meantime Minister Mikal Muhammad from the Nation of Islam in Winston-Salem arrived and then also Rev. Jimmie Bonham joined in, who is the pastor of the Pitts Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

After the delicious meal we went to the sanctuary where we had our program. Minister Mikal Muhammad gave the invocation prayer. Sun blessed us with a wonderful song, after which I read the letter from our National ACLC General Secretary Rev. Daugherty. It clarifies the goals and objectives for ACLC. The pastors present had not met Rev. Daugherty when he came the month before. At this point pastor Fermin Bocanegra showed us a PowerPoint presentation which he himself created. It was entitled "How Can We Change for the Better".

It was a very good presentation and very stimulating for our work that is still ahead of us. We need to be able to expand and reach a bigger audience. The ideals of ACLC are good and needed, but we need to change in order to grow. We collected a love offering for Pastor Fermin, and he donated it all to the sister who is going to Africa as a missionary. A short question and answer session followed the presentation, after which Rev. Jimmie Bonham concluded the gathering with a prayer. Even though our meeting was small, it was rewarding to be there.
