The Words of the Huish Family

I have seen great hope…

Last Thursday evening members of the Bromley community heard about the physically healing power of the truth; we were encouraged to believe in our enormous potential; we were given evidence of the great era of change in which we're living; and we were given a vision of opening doors in the most difficult places, an indication of the incredible mission we have. This session of inspiration was only announced barely two days in advance, yet many brothers and sisters took time out of their weekday evening to spend time with the European Continental Director couple, Pres. and Mrs. Song. The program began with Mr. Bogdan Pammer sharing his testimony from the recent 7-day Divine Principle workshop in Germany. He shared about how he witnessed one of his childhood friends, who also attended the workshop, experienced rebirth through the teachings. This resurrection even manifested itself in the physical healing received by this friend. A justified declaration of "Hallelujah!" was how Bogdan concluded, before Mrs. Song spoke about recent trips to Russia and Paris.

While praying in Moscow, we were told, at the exact same location where True Father had himself prayed 22 years previously, Mrs. Song perceived a clear message from heaven: "Do not believe what you see, but believe what I'm going to show you." This was qualified with another message: "Don't look at the past; look at the future."

With this spiritual encouragement ringing in our hearts, Mrs. Song conveyed to us the miracles taking place with the UPF work in Europe, giving examples of how people in high places are commending the work of UPF and are willing to cooperate in our efforts to build world peace. Even though we may not feel like we have much of a position in society, Mrs. Song reminded us that our importance in society comes from the ability to serve many people. Mrs. Song's conclusion was that we all have enormous potential, and perhaps we haven't yet seen that potential realized, but we must believe that we can become incredibly great.

The national leader of the Unification Movement in Great Britain, Mr. Jack Corley, relayed some more of the details of the Paris European Leadership Conference, describing the unprecedented attendance which filled the conference halls over two days. He also referred to the UNESCO preamble, which proposes to create peace by changing the minds of men; this reflected the UPF idea of changing the hearts of men, which can only be done through a culture of heart. This stimulated us with greater urgency to convey our movement's teachings to those who desperately need it to succeed in the work they aim to accomplish.

Pres. Song's address took the form of a nostalgic review of recent historical events in the European providence, in the context of the cosmic providence led by True Parents. He also pointed out that True Father's motto for this year lists victory before liberation, which is in turn before completion. In other words, we need to work hard to get the victory after which we'll enjoy the liberation, followed by the completion. We were also reminded of True Father's words to Pres. Song (who represents Europe) when he shared, "I have seen great hope in Europe," followed by the direction to "Wake up!" This again echoes the hope that God has in our community, locally and continentally, to do great things, but we need a revival to take place first. It is True Father's expectation, we were told, that Europe must open to doors to the former Soviet Union and China, a colossal task in our minds, perhaps, but certainly feasible
