Inter-religious Rally for Family Values and World Peace Ambassadors for Peace worldwide proclamation of a powerful, real hope giving vision of peace.

Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 8.00pm. UPF-NL Dialoogcentrum, Argonautenstraat 1hs., 1076 KJ Amsterdam

The Program will include: Appeals from Korean veterans for Inter-religious and International Cooperation in the pursuit of World Peace, a Keynote Speech/Peace Message, a special Family Blessing and Entertainment. After the Second World War, there was a strong desire to realize world peace. This led, among others things, to the founding of the United Nations and the Declaration of the Human Rights. At the 60th anniversary of the UN, there was appreciation for what had been accomplished, but also the realization that there was still a long way to go to the realization of a stable world peace and the fulfillment of the Millennium Goals.

The Reverend Dr Sun Myung Moon and his wife Dr Hak Ja Han Moon founded the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) to emphasizes the spiritual dimension that is necessary if one wants true peace. They have similarly proposed the addition of an Inter-religious Council at the UN, with the same status as the General Assembly, comprised of delegates from the world’s religions, dedicated to reconciliation and cooperation.

A major aspect of the work of UPF is the Ambassador for Peace Initiative, in which people who live for others and want to cooperate with people of different nations, races and religions and promote family values, human rights and world peace are recognized as "Ambassadors for Peace". These are the true world citizens, who, as Dr. Moon indicated in one of his speeches, will prevent the repetitions of the horrifying events of the last century by their unconditional devotion to peace.

In 2005, Dr. and Mrs. Moon conducted a world tour to inaugurate the UPF, visiting 100 cities in 67 nations. Dr Moon’s message was felt as inspiration for today and a blessing from God, giving encouragement and direction to those committed to the accomplishment of world peace. Prominent leaders from all areas of society received Dr. and Mrs. Moon with extraordinary warmth and respect; in some countries, in a manner normally reserved for heads of state. The success of that tour was followed by World Peace Tour II by Mrs. Moon, accompanied by one or more of their children, Word Peace Tour III by their children and grandchildren, World Peace Tour IV by American religious leaders from the USA, World Peace Tour V by Korean Ambassadors for Peace - and now World Peace VI with Ambassadors for Peace from many nations. This rally is but one of many currently being held in the Netherlands and throughout the world.

God’s Love is fundamental for the UPF. Electricity enables the functioning of all kinds of devices in a household and, in a similar manner, true, unconditional love enables each unique individual to function in the best way in society. One might call this the "democracy of love", with everyone "living for others". From this viewpoint, the UPF is working to establish a "culture of the heart" with the hope and the vision of helping to solve problems in everyday life as well as in crisis areas like the Middle East and the tragically divided Korea. The Korean Ambassadors for Peace participating in this rally are committee members of the United Nations Peace Forces of the Korean War Memorial Federation.

You are cordially invited to this historic event. Your friends are also welcome. We look forward to meeting you at what promises to be a memorable event.

Sincerely yours,
Willem A. Koetsier
