On October 15, 10:30 am, True Parents watched the 'Raising of the Steel-frame Truss for the Cheongshim Peace World Center Roof'. This day was one of the important day of the construction of the Cheongshim Peace World Center and True Parents had much interest in it that True Parents came to see it happen. Hoon Sook Nim and Yo Na Nim, Rev. Song-jo Hwang, UPF Korea President, Rev. Jong-gwan Yu, President of Segye Ilbo and President Rev. Do-sun Lim also came to see the amazing construction process.
Before the progress report Dae Mo Nim said, 'This construction is held for the first time in Korea so I feel confident since True Parents are here,' and offered her sincere appreciation to True Parents.
This construction will raise a roof that has the length of 127m and weighs 500t which has never been done in Korea that uses 5 Steel-frame Truss which was raised by sliding method. The 4 Hydraulic Jack raises each steel-frame truss at the same time so there was much caution in raising these trusses.
Right now, the Incheon International Airport holds the largest roof with a 70m truss and this one is 50m longer than that so once it's completed then it would be the biggest in Korea. This is also a very important moment for the Construction in Korea so major construction companies from all around Korea comes to visit and see the amazing construction.
This Hydraulic Slide Method that is used for this construction is also the first in Korea so there were much testing before it was actually utilized. The truss is raised 4 cm per minute (2.4m per hour) which means it takes more than 20 hours to set each truss into place. All trusses will be set up by the end of November.
After a intense moment of the radios noise and last minute check the historical raising of the truss began while spectators watched in silence. It takes around a minute to raise 5cm so it is difficult to see the actual rising of the truss but after the report that it was risen 10cm, True Parents gave a huge applause.
True Parents asked in details about the progress of the construction and asked many questions to Dae Mo Nim and said, 'Its going to take a long time to raise all of those trusses' and prayed that this process would be a success.
As the truss was raised Dae Mo Nim shared a episode about the construction of the Cheongshim Peace World Center. 'I wanted to replant the surrounding of the Cheongshim Peace World Center with beautiful trees however I was unable to do so due to legal problems. But because of the recent typhoon most of the trees were knocked over and now the city has asked us to plant trees' and after listening to this report True Parents were happy and laughed out loud. True Mother then said, 'Even though all the trees were knocked down the Cheongshim Peace World Center is really strong. Please plant beautiful flowers and maple tree'.
Before leaving, True Parents bestowed some money and encouraged all the construction employers to do well for the completion in the Cheongshim Peace World Center.
Towards the goal of September 2011, the completion of the construction, right now the construction has completed around 55% of its progress. The Cheongshim Peace World Center is designed to withstand an earthquake the size of Magnitude 6. It can hold 25,000 people at a time and it will be the largest and greatest Multi-purpose Cultural Center where various events, performances and sports can be experienced and is planned to be used as the cultural arts center for Cheon Il Guk.
