LEADership-MANagement: unification perspective

A. Objectives Of Leadership

1. Unity with your Leader (object consciousness) = First Blessing (vertical relationship)

a. Look at your superiors as God’s representative
b. Absolute unity with higher leadership
c. ownership of the goal and vision at large
d. Filial Piety towards your superior (as parent)

2. People management (subject consciousness) = Second Blessing (horizontal relationship)

a. Consider all your members as your children and images of God
b. Unconditional love for members in their position of parent
c. Deep concern for members’ welfare and situation
d. Proper authority to keep order and discipline in relationship

3. Stewardship (dominion over creation) = Third Blessing (management of all things)

a. Treat all things as symbols of God
b. Concern for all public properties
c. Building economic stability
d. Resourcefulness (proper use of all public things/properties)

B. Morals On Leadership

Purity of intention (selfless motivation)
Loyalty to God (absolute faith and obedience)
Courage (aggressiveness)
Self-discipline (self-control and dominion)
Strong sense of righteousness -- (hostility towards evil centered on DP )
Dignity (credibility)
Wisdom (creative thinking)
Spiritual Power (deep prayer life)
Parental clemency (concern for others)
Harmony (ability to relate with others)
Environmental concern (dominion)
Mission/Result oriented (deep understanding of God’s dream)

C. Internal And External Qualities Of Lead-Man

1. Qualities A Leader Should Possess (internal)

a. Spiritual Content
Life of Attendance to God
Practicing the lifestyle of living for the sake of others and greater good
Have a strong sense of responsibility and sense of ownership
Possessing strong will power and determination to do God’s will
Master of heart and suffering
Should have strong desire to save lives (spiritual children)
Should have sense of dominion, self control and self discipline
Clear understanding about his position
b. Moral Integrity
purity of intention = genuine interest
selflessness = other centered person
standard of values = can differentiate good and evil
deep concern for others = sincerity
loyal to God
sense of commitment and confidence
respectful and respected
meek and humble
patience and enduring with courageous character
faithful and trustworthy
c. Emotional maturity
can understand and embrace all situations
can separate public life from private life
level headed person
investigative not judgmental
consider all angles of the problem
can understand child-like mind
can accept criticism
can appreciate others
d. Intellectual capacity
knowledge of how to get things done

2. Ways To Lead (external)

a. Become a role model
lead yourself first
become positive influence
b. Show them what to do and how to do it
creative
innovative
work with them
dedication
c. Show your Love and Concern
pray for them and serve
keep open line of communication
reach out to their hearts (letters, gifts, send emails, remember impt dates for them and heart sharing)
have fun with them (outing, theater, chatting, karaoke, indoor games, etc)
d. Meet your people’s needs (if they say…)
love me = they need affection
notice me = they need attention
recognize me = they need appreciation
include me = they need acceptance
believe me = they need trust
listen to me = they need confidence
e. Avoid words that are related to 4 Prohibited C’s in Life
compare
complain
criticize
conflict
f. Always relate with them centering on 3 P’s
know the Purpose of relationship
determine the Position you are occupying
establish Partnership with others
g. Apply the model course of Jacob
Sacrifice willingly
Suffering without complaint
Love and care for all subordinates
Give everything to them
