The Reverend In Jin Moon will give the keynote address at a historic women's leadership conference in San Jose, Costa Rica on Saturday, January 22, 2011.

"Women's Role in Leadership in the 21st Century," is the theme of the international gathering of the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) that also features a keynote address from Ms. Doro Bush Koch, Founder of Maryland Celebration of Reading. Ambassador Ellen Sauerbrey, former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration, Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, wife of the Prime Minister of Belize, and Mrs. Graciela Rompani de Pacheco, former First Lady of Uruguay, will also be speaking at this event. An estimated 400 opinion leaders and social activists from the region will take part.

Spokeswomen from Costa Rica will include Deputy Pilar Porras Zuniga, former vice mayor of the city of San Carlos and Ms. Alexandra Loria Beeche, a lawyer for Defense of Life.

"What I admire about the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) is their understanding that the family is the cradle of civilization. Families provide the stability that leads to a peaceful society," said Amb. Ellen Sauerbrey on Friday, January 21. She added: "Since my last visit to Costa Rica eight years ago, it is striking to note how stressed women and families are due to unemployment, the rise of gang violence, father absence from the home, out-of-wedlock births, etc. The Women´s Federation is countering the radical feminist agenda that is contributing to the breakdown of families, and we desperately need organizations like this. "

Following the pattern of several national gatherings headed by Rev. Moon since she was initiated as President and CEO of the Unification Church in September, 2008, this conference will include a formal gala featuring ballroom dancing at the conference site, the Ramada Herradura Hotel in San Jose, with formal ballroom dance instruction offered to attendees prior to the gala. The Lovin' Life Ministries band, Sonic Cult, will provide entertainment.

Rev. Moon will be giving a sermon to a large gathering of Costa Rican Unificationists on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at a live service of Lovin' Life Ministries, and is expected to visit projects and centers of the Unification Church in Costa Rica.

The Lovin' Life service in Costa Rica will not be broadcast live to U.S. congregations on Sunday. However, daily updated reports on Rev. Moon's visit are scheduled to be posted on www.familyfed.org. Please check back for the latest news.
