The Words of the Kung Family |
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Wednesday (Nov 26) afternoon our beloved sister Christine Kung passed on to the spiritual world.
Her Seonghwa Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 6. Location: 83-15 Parsons Blvd. Jamaica, NY 11432. Viewing will begin at 9 am, the service will begin at 11 am. At 1 pm we will drive to the cemetery for the Won Jun Ceremony.
Christine was born Christine Estella Washburn. She is the eldest of four siblings. She joined the Unification Church in 1973 at the age of 18. She traveled and lived in Japan and Korea as part of the IOWC and New Hope Singers. While in Japan, she witnessed to several members, one of whom became blessed. She was a fundamentalist Unificationist, involving herself with all the providential activities such as the Blessed Wives Workshop, MFT, witnessing on the street, and she spent a few years as part of the molding team that helped to restore the molding in the New Yorker Hotel, all in high spirits.
She leaves behind her husband of 32 years, John Kung, one daughter, Diane, and two grandchildren, Taebin and Yubin. Her favorite resort is Chung Pyung; her favorite weekend is a D.P. workshop; her favorite people are True Parents and she looks forward to the Holy Days with great anticipation.
If you can't make it to the ceremony, but would like to make an offering, you may send it to "John Kung", 14363 Ash Ave., Queens, NY 11355
Let's all offer our prayers in support of Christine as she transitions to the spiritual world
Thank you,
Andrew Compton
