The Words of the Vargas Family |
The Ambassadors for Peace Americas Tour 2010: Guatemala is a seven-day service and fact-finding tour, to be held from July 17 to 23. The tour theme is "Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: The Need for Hemispheric Cooperation." The tour is sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation-USA, the UN Office for the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification-Guatemala, and Sun International Peace Federation. This is the second Ambassadors for Peace Americas Tour; the first was held in July 2009.
The tour includes two seminars for Ambassadors for Peace, which will be on the tour theme above. The seminars will be held in Guatemala City and in Santiago Atitlan. Participants also include local Ambassadors for Peace and community and political leaders. The tour also includes meetings with local Ambassadors for Peace, a service component, and visits to points of interest, such as Antigua, Mayan ruins at Ximiche, and the Black Sand Beach.
The registration fee is $875 for single occupancy and $775 for double occupancy (a couple or tour participants sharing a room). The registration fee includes five nights hotel accommodations, meals, ground transportation, and entrance fees to points of interest. The registration fee does not include airfare.
Participants must be of good health, since the tour has a full schedule, distance travel, and the town of Santiago Atitlan is located two hours from the nearest hospital.
The Ambassadors for Peace Americas Tour 2010 concludes this year with a conference at Columbia University in New York on October 30th.
Participants may register for the Ambassadors for Peace Americas Tour 2010 at www.AmbassadorsforPeace.us. Seating is limited. Early registration is encouraged. For more information, email us.
