Kwak Group confirms disloyalty in Jin Man Kwak tour

The central message of Jin Man Kwak's presentation to U.S. members in a series of small events during the past week remained vague, according to reports written by Unification Church members who attended. In general, the intended theme appears to have been a call for sympathy for his father (Chung Hwan Kwak), Hyun Jin Nim, and other members of the Kwak Group.

The reports I have seen describe Jin Man's attempts to testify to his own parents by pretty much repeating what his father said at a recent "I-am-not-a-crook" event in Seoul. There was no attempt to testify to True Parents. When asked in one event how the Kwak Group justified its disobedience to True Parents, Jin Man said that, while Father is the Messiah, he is also human.

The Unification Church believes that True Parents have gained victory at the stages of Messiah and True Parents and that we now live in the era when they are the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, with God dwelling in their physical bodies. The Unification Church believes that the Holy Blessing of October 14, 2009, was the first time that God, in the body of True Parents, presided over a Blessing. We believe that the tour of Europe, Middle East and Nigeria in 2011 was the first world tour conducted by God, in the body of True Parents. This is why we describe this era as the era of "King of Kings".

Jin Man's remarks demonstrated he did not share these beliefs of the Unification Church. He confirmed for us that the beliefs of the Unification Church are not the beliefs of the Kwak Group.

He used the term "loyalty", but here, too, he demonstrated that the Kwak Group's idea of loyalty is distinct from the Unification Church's concept. For the Kwak Group, "loyalty" does not prevent them from casting doubt on the mental capacity of God's direct son sent to bring salvation to all fallen humanity in both the physical world and spirit world. It does not prevent them from disparaging the victory of the woman who, though born as a descendant of the fall, completes the course of becoming the wife of God.

Jin Man often spoke emotionally and raised his voice toward his audience, particularly at the South Florida event. In much of what he said, too, he was simply irrational. For example, he claimed that if someone were to point a gun at True Parents, he would block the bullet with his body. He did not explain how he would do that while choosing to place himself in a position far distant from True Parents. I doubt even Superman could jump that far that quickly.

Jin Man said there would be a meeting with True Parents at some point. In context, though, it was clear that the Kwak Group's thinking on any such meeting is that it will take place on their terms, not True Parents'. True Parents' Declaration of May 29, 2011, spells out True Parents' terms for the Kwak Group to return to them. These include stepping down from the UCI board, but Jin Man did not mention that he might be ready to do this.

The bottom line of the Jin Man tour appears to have been that the Kwak Group is dwindling to a small group of dead-enders determined to hold out until the last possible moment before responding to True Parents' attempts to bring them forgiveness and salvation.
