Rev. Mark McDougal, Pastor of the Cincinnati Family Church, explains the purpose of the ACLC Unity Service.
On Sunday, August 7th, Cincinnati held its Annual Unity Service.
This year three churches came together: Maranatha Ministries, Bible Way Baptist Church, and Cincinnati Family Church.
Dr. Paul Hassan, Pastor of the Maranatha Ministries, welcomed all the guests to this year’s event. He explained that the Unity Services had offered a networking opportunity to the various churches. Additional joint services and programs will be planned.
The Bible Way Choir next rose and offered spirited inspirational gospel songs that had the audience rise to their feet and shout hallelujah!
This provided a welcome atmosphere for Bishop Arnold, Pastor of Bible Way Baptist Church, to deliver a moving sermon on Joseph, son of Jacob.
His sermon, titled "What Do You Want on Your Tombstone?" was very solemn and had the audience discussing its content long after the sermon was concluded. He touched the hearts of all in the congregation by his admonition that the real count is at the end of our lives, and the measure of success is the sum total of our accomplishments for God.
Bishop Elaine Johnson, host pastor of the Maranatha Ministry of Cincinnati and founder of the Women in Courage Ministry, gave a warm farewell address. She emphasized that it is only by working together that great achievements for God can be accomplished. She highlighted several interdenominational programs that Maranatha has established, and invited other churches to participate in these established programs.
