Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- UPF-Malaysia will inaugurate its Peace Embassy in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, on October 27 with a gala program beginning with the National Anthem and invocations by leaders of several faiths.
YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Devaki Krishnan, President of UPF-Malaysia, will give welcoming remarks followed by Dr. Chung Sik Yong, Chair of UPF-Asia.
The guest of honor will be Y.B. Senator Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
The program will close with high tea and appointment of new Ambassadors for Peace.
Earlier in the day, a seminar for Ambassadors for Peace will introduce participants to the "culture of heart" promoted by UPF. Topics will include the Principles of Developing Healthy Relationships; the Essential Nature of Human Spirituality, Root Causes of Conflict and Violence, and Peace Building.
Special presentations will include a review of the Mindanao Peace Initiative by Engr. Julius B. Malicdem, National Chair of UPF-Philippines, and the South Thailand Peace Initiative, by Dr. Lek Thaveetermsakul, Vice Chair of UPF-Asia.
