RE: Special Workshop for Cheon Il Guk Couples, Dec. 26-27, 2005; Couples Retreat for All 2nd Generation Couples, Dec. 27-30, 2005

May the blessings and love of God and the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind be with all leaders and Blessed Families.

In order to establish an ongoing tradition of education and support for Second Generation Blessed Couples, the First Annual Couples Retreat will be held for all matched or Blessed couples of the Second Generation from December 27 – 30, 2005 at UTS in Barrytown, NY. Internal guidance, relationship and communication skills will be combined with opportunities for reflection, deep sharing and fellowship; all in the relaxing and fun environment of a winter wonderland! In addition, a special session will be held for all Cheon Il Guk couples who were matched and Blessed by True Parents this past December, February or August. These couples were directed by True Father to attend a special 40 day workshop in Chung Pyung last July-August, during which the meaning and value of their Blessing, its standards and Father’s direction were presented. But due to the lack of materials in English and insufficient translation and staff support, much of the content was not adequately conveyed to western participants.

To compensate for this, and to make sure that CIG couples understand clearly their course and True Parents’ direction for them, a special one-day session will be held for these couples beginning Monday, December 26th at Barrytown. Among the issues to be discussed are ideas and options for fulfilling the condition of public activity that Father required as a condition for receiving this Blessing from True Parents. These couples may then join the First Annual Couples Retreat which begins the following evening.

We realize that this period between Christmas and New Years is an important time for workshops and youth ministry in your regions, and that some of these couples are active in local youth ministry. We ask that you understand and permit their absence this winter and prepare accordingly with parents and other Blessed Children for the local winter workshops and other programs.
