Re: General Directions

Date: August 1, 2002
We sincerely thank all of our families for making the Service for Peace Summer of Service and the July 26th rally events pleasing to both True Parents and Hyun Jin Nim. Thank you leaders and all Blessed Central Families. Now we want to develop the Service for Peace Educational program for one year to build a peace movement. America is standing firmly in a victorious position to fulfill it's providential role.
All Regional directors and top Korean leaders worldwide have been asked to work in Korea. We do not know the length of their stay. They will continue to guide their regions through the Vice Regional Directors. Dr. Yang will be going back and forth and will continue to guide the American movement.
True Mother's Speaking Tour:
True Mother is beginning a speaking tour in Korea and Japan. We anticipate her tour to come to America in early September.
Clergy Blessing September 14th in New York:
The next blessing of religious leaders will be held Saturday, September 14th in the Manhattan Center in New York. It will have a particular emphasis on Muslim and Christian reconciliation and unity as well as a memorial service for the sacrifice of 9/11. We would like to see a Muslim/ Christian marriage occur for the sake of World Peace. Any candidates for such an historic marriage will be considered.
Clouds of Witnesses:
Based on Father's direction, we are preparing additional educational materials to create more understanding for the Clouds of Witnesses ads. We ask that there be no further distribution of the document without a more extensive introduction which will be available soon. This (Clouds of Witnesses)document is a Family Federation document and is not from the ACLC. An ACLC statement was issued by the National Executive Committee concerning this document. It is available on the FFWPU website.
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Steven Jares has been appointed by Dr. Yang as chief of staff of national headquarters. He will report directly to the Continental Director and the President. Mrs. Margaret Herbers is now the Executive Secretary for Headquarters. (Special thanks to Rev. In Hoi Lee and Washington Region for allowing her to transfer from Regional HQ).
State Leader Recruitment:
Based on Father's direction, Dr. Yang has requested that all state leaders to be from America and UTS graduates. (Current state leaders should return to their hometown or home country only after they have been replaced with an approved replacement.) Regional Directors and Vice Regional Directors are asked to work with all organizations to identify those candidates for leadership. The state leader candidates should be currently economically self sufficient. They will work as a pastor of the Family Church. The Michigan family church has offered a good model. Eventually, through serving the families in their state, it may be possible for the state leader to be totally supported by the local church community. The state leader will not be required to attend all and every meeting nationally but will have flexibility to send other representatives when necessary. ALL ASSIGNMENTS OF STATE LEADERS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT, REGIONAL DIRECTOR AND CONTINENTAL DIRECTOR. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE THEIR MISSION CHANGED WITHOUT THE ABOVE APPROVAL AS WELL AS THE SUPPORT OF EXISTING ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP.
