Change And Correspondence

For the three days up until yesterday, centering on True Parents at Chung Pyung, so many important things happened. Everyone knows, right? Everybody opened the web-site and then very easily we could see what was going on. At the same time the Korean Headquarters broadcast everything via its web-site. That is how we could even enjoy the live meeting with True Parents. Who joined the live celebration of God’s Coronation Ceremony? Was there English translation? Father gave a very strong, very important and significant speech, right?

Basically, Father has moved the celebration of God’s Coronation Ceremony from January 13 to January 3. And yesterday Father made sure that from now on we will celebrate the Coronation Ceremony for God and True Parents on January 3. That is why from now the three days from January 1 to January 3 will be three very important providential steps every year. As you know, January 1 is True God’s Day, so the first day, January 1 is for the true God. And the second day, January 2 is the Day of the Victory of Love. This time two days ago at Chung Pyung Father allowed a special ceremony to take place that was the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birthday.

Since the 60s—actually even before Father’s Holy Wedding, spiritually Father had met Jesus Christ and already he knew that Christmas was not December 25, or December 29 or January 6, but January 2— so already more than 40 years ago, Father began to celebrate Jesus’ birthday on January 2. In the Korean church in the 1970s, according to the individual leader’s understanding and conviction, we often celebrated Jesus Christ’s birthday on January 2. But this time officially Father allowed the public celebration in Chung Pyung. That is why the second day is the Day of the Victory of Love and Jesus’ birthday.

That was the growth stage. Then the third day, the perfection stage, was the Coronation of God and True Parents. Beginning this year, especially the day of God’s coronation and True Parents’ coronation becomes the starting day of the fatherland. That is why Father made this year’s motto, "The Proclamation of God’s Fatherland and the Era of the Peace Kingdom." So beginning this year Father has set up a pattern or format to continue for eternity for how we are going to start each new year with this three day special course.

Through Father’s speech yesterday he also emphasized one very, very important point. Now Father has made and has opened the gate to enter into God’s Fatherland and the Peace Kingdom. Father has clarified how we can get in through this door which is directly connected with God’s Fatherland and the Peace Kingdom. Father taught that in order to go through this door, we should accomplish three revolutions, or three steps of revolution.

The first step you must accomplish is revolution through indemnity, which means the revolution of your body’s situation, in other words, unity between your mind and body. Secondly, you have to accomplish the revolution of conscience. This means together with the unity of mind and body, my body should follow my mind. We have to be ready to go that way by accomplishing indemnity. Then, after that, our minds are always mixed up, right? So conscience and the original mind, and what? The false mind. That is why we have to keep our minds only on the side of the original mind, which by Father’s concept means the conscience. That is why I need a revolution of the concept . Then I will be a perfected individual. After we become perfect individuals, we have to establish the ideal family. How? By accomplishing the revolution of heart. The family is the cornerstone and the basic foundation of heaven. Why? Because the family provides us with the chance to perfect our heart by accomplishing the three great realms of the heart. That is why Father made sure that if you really want to get into God’s fatherland, it is the time, and you should accomplish these three revolutions, the first being indemnity, the second, conscience, and the third, heart.

That was Father’s short but very clear and very strong direction. Then, centering on this situation we need to come to our reality. During Hoon Dok Hae this morning, Father identified the beginning of this year as the time of the great transition. We need to think about this. We need to think about Father’s providence, about how much it has changed or has just remained the same. Father’s providence and God’s dispensation have been changing every day, almost every moment, but most of us might not have kept caught up with this point, right? How many of you truly have felt every moment, every day that God’s dispensation has been growing, and centering on that growth, how much has the providential situation or our spiritual background or faithful foundation been changing? Even God’s dispensation at the end of last year is different from the dispensation right now.

In that sense, I can say we are living among changes. Not only providential changes but also outside cultural, technological and social changes. Almost every day we experience changes. Then how accustomed are we to looking at these providential changes and corresponding with them? If we always easily catch up with these changes, when I explain what Father is doing, we have to be able to create something as a reaction or in correspondence regarding what we should do. But mostly without receiving Father’s clear and detailed direction, we are not ready to catch up with what is going on with Father and what is going on with God right now. That means we are very far away from recognizing the providential changes.

Not only providential changes [are occurring], but in our society, in our physical life, changes are always happening; but somehow we may be very, how to say, away [detached?]from these two different kinds of changes. Why? Usually these changes started before we could recognize them. It means before we recognize something, already these changes have occurred, or have started. Also, these providential or physical changes or not going in a straight direction, but irregularly, sometimes making a circle, sometimes taking another direction. That is why people may not be aware. But when some part of this irregular way of the development of changes hits some part of my life, then finally we are able to catch up to that. But it is already too late to be involved in and to lead those changes.

That is why first of all, at the beginning of this year, which is the time of the great transition—Father is always leading the changes, but Father has never identified these changes as changes. Father always put it that this is not a change, it is a transition, or it a revolution, right? Father’s concept is not just that of change. Change is just moving, but Father’s concept is not change. We are not supposed to change this world. We have to bring a revolution to this world. In other words, because of the fall, the direction of this fallen world became 180 degrees different from God’s direction. By Father’s concept, it takes too much time through change to turn in the completely opposite direction. That is why Father doesn’t like to use the word "change" and is used to using "transition" or "revolution."

So even though we cannot catch up with the revolution—revolution is too liberal, too much of an angle, so it is very difficult for us to follow the revolution. Think even about our human history regarding revolutions. How many people have been ready to accept those revolutions? With God’s revolution, True Parents’ revolution, it is the same. Even though we are blessed central families we are not accustomed to work with revolution. Somehow we are more accustomed to and it is easier for us to follow changes, and that is way these changes go their own ways and finally we will reach the situation of revolution or transition.

In that sense, first of all, don’t try to have a stable situation. I’m speaking the truth. The more you pursue a stable situation, physically as well as spiritually, the worse will be the spiritual way you meet. That is really clear. It will be the opposite. That is why Father says revolution through what? Indemnity. That is the first step. So before we try to pursue a stable situation, we have to always be ready and have to open another side of our sense to accept and to follow changes. If you think, oh, this is very strange, or, this is a new situation with this change, already you are late. We need to think, okay, on the one hand, stability, and on the other hand, change. We have to be able to be accustomed to and to accept as normal that these two situations exist at the same time. This means we have to change our concept. Otherwise, at the final moment we may lose the chance to get in the door. This is Father’s warning to us in the last days.

And finally, if I just observe the changes and look at how the situation is going to develop and grow and where it’s going, what will happen? Those changes will have no relationship with me. It means we have to have correspondence with these changes. We have to catch these changes and we have to ride this changing vehicle.

That is why we have just spent three special beginning days, and today is the first day of this year to plant ourselves in reality. For three days we only received everything from God and True Parents, in the spiritual world, in the heartistic boundary. Now we have to take the first step in our reality. Then what kind of understanding, what kind of commitment and what kind of attitude do we need? It is very important. If we have a concept in our mind but go a different way with our body, what will happen? We will never be able to achieve mind and body unity, right? That is why once we understand Father’s dispensation and what is going on with God, we must connect this understanding to our daily life.

So now we have changes. Somehow Father called these changes a transition, and moreover, Father clarified that these changes should be revolutions. Okay, whether changes or revolutions, what kind of changes or revolutions will occur in my real life, and what should I do in my real life? Centering on Father’s teaching, God’s goal and True Parents goal for this year are very clearly conveyed in the motto. What is it? To establish, to build God’s Fatherland and the world peace kingdom. The concept of God’s Fatherland [relates with] the level of the nation. The concept of the peace kingdom means to expand this national level to the world. But they are not different. That is why Father proclaimed on the one side God’s Fatherland as the national level, and at the same time the Peace Kingdom on the world level. That is why they are the same.

The first goal is of course is to establish and build God’s Fatherland. This is God and True Parents’ goal in this year. In order to achieve this goal Father will give us directions and we will have many events this year. Of course we have to follow this way. That is totally the providential situation. And then how do I need to lead my daily life, except [aside from] my dedication toward God and True Parents’ dispensation? This is why Father gave us the three revolutions. We have to deal with our faith on the individual level, the family level, the community level and the national level. Is that true? Father’s motto connects directly with God’s providence, which means at least the national level, and the world and cosmic levels. And then with my own wisdom and my own understanding I have to do something for myself. I have to make a certain foundation in my life. Then as a next step I have to do something with my faith on the community level. My responsibility for myself and towards our community is how to deal with the individual, the family and the community. In other words, how can I prepare myself, and then what kinds of things am I going to develop in my family in order to prepare to go into God’s fatherland? And finally, how can we develop our church community so that this community can work and can partake of something in the fatherland? This should be another of our responsibilities.

So, to deal with the individual, myself, Father already taught us two points, revolution through indemnity and the revolution of conscience. And on the family level, what? Heart, the Four Great Realms of Heart: parents heart, children’s heart, conjugal heart and brothers and sisters heart. That is our individual and family situation. But we are gathered together here on Sunday as a blessed central family community. What should our mission and our commitment be towards our blessed central family community, which means the New Jerusalem community as it is called by True Parents? We need to think about this. Because heaven is not just simply related with the individual, not simply the family. Heaven’s sun, heaven’s lights go everywhere, which means from the individual to God and which means all eight steps should be perfect. That world will be the ideal world and the Peace Kingdom.

So, in order to go that way, in order to go (follow) Father’s providence for God’s Fatherland and the Peace Kingdom, what should we do in our community? During our meetings last year I raised the issue of two thumbs up: one family, one church will be the way to follow God and True Parents dispensation, which is making the fatherland and the peace kingdom. That is the right thumb, one family, one church outreach. And we need another thumb. The second thumb means in-reach. We have more than 300 families in our community. God does not want to lose any single family, right? But if as citizens we think only about our authority and never about our duties; in other words, as American citizens if we never pay taxes but always try to get favors or authority as citizens, that is wrong. In heaven it is the same.

Side B:

…outside through the eight steps. That is why our commitment should reach to all eight steps, not just one step. This is our particular, extraordinary lifestyle.

In conclusion, from now on, on one side we will follow Father and God’s dispensation by accomplishing one family, one church. Now on the other side we have to think: what are the other changes. Not just one change, one big change and what other changes? Another change is God and True Parents need to make a model of the ideal blessed central family community. That is why our mission should be focused on the community. That will be our correspondence to the changes.

That is why I defined the five categories. Do you remember? What is the first one? Community. We have to raise up our community—in-reach. We need more communication, more meetings, more of a pastoral situation. We have to take care of our members, of each other in our community. Second, committees. We are trying now to expand our committees. We already have committees such as the financial committee, and the Sunday service committee, but soon we will make a summer camp planning committee, and also a parents’ association committee and a witnessing committee. These kinds of committee activities will provide you with the opportunity to become leadership in the future. We also have to empower the Sunday service more. Sunday service is our only chance to meet God and to get God’s spiritual nutrition. That is why we need to develop and empower our Sunday service more. Also second generation. What should we do to make a good, an ideal situation with first and second generation together? Also, witnessing. Without the growth of our membership, this church is not a living church, not organic. So we have to put our heart, our spirit and our finances, everything, into witnessing. Why? We have to make an exemplary blessed central family community. This is one of our responsibilities or duties.

So, we have providential and community changes, and we are confronted [by] those changes. So let us correspond more to these changes. In other words, we have to have the concept of corresponding with these changes. If we think change is change; this change doesn’t affect me, doesn’t influence me because ……, then we will never be able to have a relationship with those situations.

So please, as long as we accept this transitional time and Father’s teaching on revolution, let’s be ready to work, to do something to make a foundation for these internal changes this year.

Once again, I strongly encourage you, let us change our general paradigm from now on. Let’s change our paradigm this year. In other words, let’s change our concept toward changes this year. Are you ready? Are you ready? Everybody ready?
