Dear STF,

Can you forward the following letter to the STF email list? We would like to thank everyone who has supported Nam Hi with their prayer and love, and let them know that he is doing well.

Thanks very much,

Dear Family, Friends and Well-wishers of Nam Hi Hwang,

It is now one month since the tragic car accident in Louisiana that took the lives of two precious young members of our church, as well as that of the young Christian boy driving the other vehicle.

Given the highly unusual circumstances of the accident, and the things Father has said about it, we deeply believe that this incident was in God's hands and that the indemnity paid will benefit the providence at this important historical time. We salute Kwan Jung Lee and Oleksei Vilagurev, and their families, for their sacrifices, which have been acknowledged by True Parents and celebrated at their Seung Hwa ceremonies.

We also want to reassure parents of current STF members that this incident involved no mistake or breach of safety on the part of the driver or the STF team. The other driver apparently lost control of his car, which crossed the median at high speed and hit the van head-on as it was heading down the highway. There was no way the van could have avoided the accident.

Our son Nam Hi was in a coma for 17 days following the accident, but he has now emerged and is rapidly regaining his speech and his memory. He is still not able to control his body, but will be receiving extensive physical therapy to help him learn to sit and walk and regain his physical abilities. We are hopeful of his full recovery over time. In the past few days Nam Hi has been able to talk on the phone, and has communicated with a few of his friends, which has cheered him up immensely. He is generally in a positive state of mind.

We are very grateful for all of your prayers, which have supported Nam Hi throughout this ordeal. During the struggle to recall Nam Hi back to his body, we had many dreams and experiences that showed us the reality of the connection between the spiritual and physical worlds. We have no doubt of the effectiveness of our intensive prayers and singing of holy songs, supported by members of the STF staff, local Louisiana and Texas church members who came to pray with us, and all of you who supported us from afar. We are also thankful for the many phone calls and offers of help we have received.

We especially want to acknowledge the care and concern shown to our family by the STF staff, who have done their best to support us and the other families involved in this accident. We feel that under the leadership of Hyun Jin Nim, STF is truly the place where a culture of heart is blossoming, and we are proud that our son is part of it. It's not clear whether Nam Hi will be able to complete his STF mission, but his brother Dae Hi and sister Jaimee are eager to carry on the tradition of frontline work he set.

This experience has already deeply touched and drawn together the hearts of both of our physical families, as well as many friends in and out of the church. We are confident that our Heavenly Father will turn this indemnity to good purpose.

We are planning to move Nam Hi to a rehabilitation facility in Washington DC as soon as the arrangements can be completed. Kathy will spend some time there while Thomas continues our mission in China. We look forward to working and sharing more with many of you in the days ahead.

God bless you all,
Thomas and Kathy Hwang
