The Words of the Cotter Family |
A life of faith cannot thrive on just the ferocity of our beliefs. How can we become conduits for the power of God's love if we are not investing in our self-awareness? To praise and worship based on the foundation of your faith requires a healthy and balanced internal environment. It is essential that we use analytical thinking to dissect our own thoughts and feelings concerning our relationship to our faith and to our faith practice.
When it comes to the attitude we should all strive to emulate in our lives of faith, children are wonderful examples. A child looks at the world and all of God's creation with innocent, nonjudgmental eyes. They are full of wonder and curiosity, wanting to know as much as they can about the world around them. Any parent knows that as a child attempts to understand all that surrounds them they question everything, not out of a lack of faith or belief, but out of a desire to know the mind and heart of the creator. Children may not be aware that this is happening, but a loving parent observing their child in this precious stage becomes powerfully aware of how God finds joy in His children's curiosity.
In these great times when our Heavenly True Parents live and breathe, imagine what we could accomplish if only we endeavored to maintain our ability to wonder throughout our own self-development. If through wonder we can sustain the searching heart of a child, then we will find that God's power resides in us; as we fulfill our individual portions of responsibility, God comes alive in us. We must feel the way of the righteous path within the context of our own internal compass. This is our portion of responsibility.
Brothers and sisters, strive through the wonderment of your own unique identity to hear how God speaks to you. Focus on your internal voice to hear what God wants to share with you. Like a child, keep your mind open to the possibilities and take every opportunity to search yourself for God. Live in the joy of being with God.
God bless you and your family.
