The Words of the Barlow Family

Breaking Silence on In Jin Moon, Ben Lorentzen and Alistair Farrant

September 9, 2012

I have broken a self-imposed silence of almost a year, and over ten thousand unread posts, most of which probably involved the usual arguments of both sides in the debate about who was to blame for the schism and what Hyun Jin (for the most part) should do to rectify it, because, as Bob Dylan stated in one uptempo song of more recent times? 'Things Have Changed'.

With Reverend Moon's passing, a whole era has ended. I first met him in London forty years ago, and like everyone else here I have been aware of his existence on some level every day since that encounter. Now he belongs to the ages, as do all historical figures.

Which means the legacy issue is now immediate and paramount. And that brings us back to the question of whether In Jin Nim is currently qualified to fulfill her role as Senior Pastor in America.

Along with a surprisingly large number of others, it now seems, I have been aware of her affairs with both Alistair Farrant and Ben Lorentzen for some considerable time. More than a year ago I stated that In Jin Nim and Jin Sung Nim's open marriage was an open secret. I was challenged to put up or shut up, and my sources did not want to be outed, so I let it go, after I had revealed the publicly available fact of the Farrants' divorce, which elicited a pained response by Mike to `LEAVE THE FARRANT FAMILY ALONE!' Which was understandable, coming from a friend of the family, and a man of considerable sensibility.

What Mike, with his presumably excellent sources, may also have known is that Alistair himself was told to disappear for an extended period, and that when he surfaced on Facebook some time later, David Eaton is said to have been tasked with tracking him down to remind him of the terms of the deal. I know of two former musician friends of Alistair who have shared that information in private.

The story of how In Jin Nim came to transfer her attentions from Alistair to Ben is an interesting one. Ben was originally recruited from Norway, along with his brother Stian, to join Hyo Jin Nim's music project at Manhattan Center Studios. Although Ben was a talented young musician, he was not comfortable with Hyo Jin's decadent behavior. Hyo Jin Nim picked up on this, and gave him a hard time (i.e. beat up on him). Nansook [Nan Sook Hong – Hyo Jin Moon's first wife] took pity on him, and advised him to go back to Europe. After Hyo Jin Nim died, In Jin Nim contacted him. She told him she wanted to make up for her brother's mistreatment of him, and she insisted that his talent was needed as part of her new vision for the musical aspect of Lovin' Life Ministries.

Their affair is said to have started in a hotel room in Las Vegas in November 2009. According to my sources, In Jin Nim accidentally left an expensive watch behind, which Ben took back to New York to return to her. When Alistair found out that In Jin Nim had already transferred her affections, there was a physical altercation between him and Ben, before he finally accepted the inevitable. He paid a high price for getting involved with In Jin Nim. He lost his marriage and his position, and he has been banished for an extended period.

In the meantime, Ben and In Jin Nim have become deeply involved with each other. She is said to have referred to him as her `musical Jesus'. She is a mature and highly intelligent woman, and I don't think she would have got pregnant by accident. She did not opt for an abortion, so she must really have wanted this baby.

Ben and In Jin Nim are said to have made a private visit to Norway during her period of absence from her ministry.

Baby Erik Auston Shin Jin was born on May 1, 2012. [See birth certificate below]

Ben and Patricia Lorentzen's divorce was granted under Norwegian law on May 3, 2012.

Throughout this saga, Patricia has behaved with dignity and restraint, as those who know her well can attest. Contrary to the vicious and protracted insinuations from In Jin Nim's attack dogs, Patricia has maintained a principled private life, while continuing until recently to be the sole provider for her family (Ben has now started sending a small monthly allowance for the boys).

I predict that we will all be informed of the breakdown of In Jin Nim's marriage to Jin Sung Nim fairly soon after the official ceremonials are over. Jin Sung will be paid off and sent on his way, and we will be asked for our understanding that the future Mrs. Lorentzen has found the love of her life. I would suggest that In Jin Nim makes sure that she has a solid pre-nuptual agreement, as Ben has a habit of straying. Like most of us here, I'm sure, I hope she finds happiness.

As for the title of Reverend, and the role of Senior Pastor, I don't think she has a leg to stand on. Neither, in my opinion, does Joshua Cotter and a whole bunch of other enablers. Sycophants, the lot of you.

As the song says, `God is watching us from a distance.'

Best wishes to the rest of you at this time of reflection.
