Chapter 1 The Life of the Founder

 Exposing the Root of Sin

Sun Myung Moon's school days in Tokyo had still greater significance: it was during this time that he came to understand what is often referred to in theological terms as "the Fall." Since his first encounter with Jesus Christ, he had wrestled for seven years to unlock the secrets contained in the first three chapters of the book of Genesis. In essence, he sought to know the identity of Satan and the true meaning of the fall. In so doing, Reverend Moon confronted a life-threatening spiritual struggle. He eventually came to into the knowledge of such of Heaven's secrets as the motivation for the fall, the process and results of the fall, the reason why God was unable to intervene in that process, and the true identity of Satan who had been depicted as a snake. Reporting these discoveries to God, he declared Satan's transgression in front of the entire universe. Finally, after Heaven twice tested him on his convictions, he received God's recognition and authority.
