Introduction

There are six schools of thought on the view of the Person of Christ, historically: the Ebionites, Decetae, Arians, Appollinarians, Nestorians, and the Eutychians -- which we have no space to discuss. A few words should be mentioned here on the view of the deity of Christ by the well believing Christians.

The Fundamental Christian belief distinctly says, Jesus Christ was possessed of a divine nature and of a human nature, each unaltered in essence and undivided of the normal attributes and powers. They with equal distinctness represent Jesus as a single, undivided personality in whom these two natures are vitally and inseparably united, so that He is properly not God and man, but the God-Man. They use the following scriptures for proof: John 17:23, John 3:11, John 1:14, etc.

I. Union with God

Man was created to have union with God, which is to have oneness with God the Father. This was God's original plan.

When we compare the relationship between the mind and the body, we can visualize more clearly the relationship which should exist between man and God. There should be a perfect relation of give and take between the mind and body. The body must obey the mind. They must correspond with one another. Then there is oneness and harmony between the mind and body. This is a perfect man.

Man was created to be, and will be the temple of God. God originally planned that man would have oneness with God, have deity, and possess the nature of God. Then man would have free communication with man on earth.

I Cor. 3:16 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"
John 14:20 "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in, me, and I in you."

1. The Value of God's Original Man, the First Adam

Originally, one man was as valuable to God as the entire world. We can see the vital importance of each man as an individual when we look at Adam Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Paul and others. God always begins a work with one man. One faithful, obedient man is more important to God them the world.

Matt. 16:26, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall man give in exchange for his own soul?"

In the sight of God, the soul of man is more important and worth more than the whole world.

To God, each individual is a unique existence in himself. Each person has a different value, therefore, each person has unique value to God. Even twins are not exactly alike. Only individually can every person offer the sense of stimulating love and joy to God as one of His creatures.

Only the individual can reflect himself to God to become God's image, to stimulate God's essentiality, to return his own individual beauty to God and to receive God's love.

Because of the fall the vertical relationship between God and man was severed. God wants to have a direct relation with every person on earth. God's plan was for a horizontal relationship of love between all mankind. With the fall this horizontal relationship was also severed. Mankind must first restore the vertical relationship with God, and then the horizontal relationship among men will be restored. When one individual falls, the mirror of God shows defect. If me part of a watch is lost, all other parts are affected; the watch stops working and is valueless. When men do not reflect God's image, they become valueless to God.

This diagram shows the relationship which should exist between God and man.

II. Our Relationship with Jesus Christ

1. First Adam and Jesus from the Viewpoint of the Tree of Life

First Adam and Jesus are in the same capacity. We will find this true when we look at Adam and Jesus from the viewpoint of the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Life is mentioned first in the Book of Genesis and last in the Book of Revelation. According to modern Bible scholars the Tree of Life mentioned in Rev. 22:14 is the Second Adam, Jesus Christ.

Rev. 22:14 "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

These scholars believe therefore that the Tree of Life in the Book of Revelations signifies Jesus' Second Coming.

Let us look again at the Book of Genesis and the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. If Jesus, the Second Adam, is the symbol of the Tree of Life, it seems logical that Jesus would also be the Tree of Life in the Book of Genesis; but there was no Jesus Christ in the Garden of Eden. Jesus was born four thousand years later, and was the Second Adam, Therefore, in the sight of God, the First Adam, who should have been the first perfect man, was symbolized by the Tree of Life in Genesis. After the fall, the First Adam could not qualify as the perfect man, and lost the promise of becoming -- Tree of Life.

Gen. 3:24 "So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim's, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."

God gave to Adam His word, a conditional covenant, but by disobedience First Adam lost the word, the future promise for Lordship, dominion, perfect sinless children, and the blessed promise of becoming a perfect man -- Tree of Life. Adam died spiritually and was cut off from God.

The way to the Tree of Life was reopened by the ministry of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:3 tells us that on the day of Pentecost, cloven tongues like fire were received. God's spirit was poured out and shared by one hundred twenty people.

Modern theologians say the Tree of Life in the Book of Revelation symbolizes Jesus Christ, the Second Adam. If the First Adam had not fallen, he would have become perfect and his value would have been that of a perfected man in spirit and body, just as Jesus was perfect in spirit and body. The First Adam sinned and fell while the Second Adam, Jesus, attained the perfection which the First Adam lost. Jesus became the perfect Adam. Thus, the First Adam and the Second Adam, Jesus, are the same in capacity as Adam, a perfect man -- Tree of Life.

2. First Adam and Jesus from the Viewpoint of the Logos Doctrine

The "Doctrine of the Logos" originated from Philo. Philo lived from 20 BC to 54 AD. He was a Jewish scholar and teacher who adopted the theory of the Logos from Greek Philosophy. This Greek doctrine is used in the Book of John and in the Book of Hebrews. Philo, a great Jewish scholar and a Pharisee, introduced this Greek doctrine of the Logos (word) and it was infused into early Christianity. It states that the Word is the divine idea of God, the Father. The divine idea of God is His plan and purpose for the universe.

In the beginning was the divine idea and the divine idea was with God, and the divine idea was God.

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

In other words, the Word is the fulfillment of God's idea, God's plan. This doctrine has had a tremendous influence on the Christian religion.

God uses the Word to accomplish His plan. The Word is a reflection of God's thought, God's divine idea as to His universal plan and creation.

3. The Logos from the Viewpoint of God's Two Essentialities

According to God's principles, in God's two essentialities there is the subject and object relation, or positive and negative elements. God has a plus (+) and minus (-) in His essentiality. Since God has two essentialities, the Word must also reflect these two essentialities.

Let us look at the visible manifestation of God's two Essentialities through the Word; the power and action through which all the visible creations are manifest.

The Tree of Life in Genesis is the First Adam, the perfect Adam - Tree of Life. There were two trees and two people in the Garden. Therefore, if the Tree of Life is the symbol of perfect Adam, the Tree of Knowledge must symbolize Eve who was to be the perfect woman. Eve fell, also, and never attained perfection.

Adam and Eve should have been our first perfect parents, the true parents of all humankind. God sent Jesus in the name of the Father, in the Father's capacity. Jesus was the restored Adam. Therefore, there must be a second Eve capacity or Mother capacity, the restored Eve's capacity.

Jesus must have a counterpart of minus element to accomplish His work. Could it be that the Holy Spirit is the counter part? Could it be possible that the Holy Spirit symbolizes the Eve capacity?

Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are in the perfect parents capacity. This is why Christians must have a rebirth, and be reborn by the Spirit, or they cannot receive Christ. We are, at best, adopted children. There are many scriptures which prove the followers of Christ are adopted children in the sight of God.

Rom. 8:23 "And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body."
Eph. 1-5 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will."

God has no real children on Earth at the present time. God is waiting for the manifestation of the true Sons of God.

III. The Differences Between Jesus and Fallen Mankind

1. Fallen Man Possesses No Deity

Fallen man has original sin. Men have fallen so far they now worship and envy angels who were originally created as ministering servants of God and man. If fallen man were completely restored, completely resurrected, each man would stand in the capacity of a perfected Adam, then each man would become "Tree of Life," which means a perfect man, as was the Second Adam, Jesus.

I John 3:2 "We know that when He shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

2. Jesus is not Almighty God, the Father

Jesus Christ is the Son of man. He lived and died as a man. His victory was accomplished because, as a man, he attained a perfect spirit while living in the flesh.

Luke 2:40 "And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him."

He was anointed to fulfill the capacity of the Messiah:

Luke 4:18 Jesus said "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor ..."
Acts 4:27 "For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, ..."
Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."

There are two distinct persons involved here, God the Father and the man Jesus.

He called Himself the Son of man:

Luke 17:2.2 "And he said unto the disciples. The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it."
Luke 17:30 "Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."
Luke 18:8 "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"

He is qualified to intercede for mankind. He could understand the struggle of humankind because He experienced the same joy, love, anger as any man.

I. Tim. 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ;"

In this scripture we see two distinct personalities.

Jesus was obedient to God as a man:

Romans 5:19 "For as by one man's disobedience man were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

God cannot be tempted by the devil:

Matt. 4:1 "Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil."

Jesus prayed to God:

Matt. 27:46 ... "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

God would not call to Himself and ask, "Why have I forsaken Myself?" If Jesus is God, He would have known exactly what was happening here. Jesus wanted to know why God did not deliver Him from this cup of death.

If Jesus was literally God walking on the earth, certainly God would not talk to Himself, and obey Himself, and pray to Himself in Heaven.

Man can be on the basis of friendship with Jesus, but not with God the Father:

John 15:14-15 Jesus said "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth, but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."

Jesus' followers are grafted to Him, not to God, because Jesus was a man in the flesh:

John 15:5 Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches"
I. Cor. 12:27 "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular."

Followers can be members of the body of Jesus because He also had a physical body. God does not have a physical body, and men cannot be the body of God, the Father.

We are joint heirs with Christ; his brothers and sisters:

Romans 8:16-17 "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ."
Matt. 12:50 Jesus said, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."

God ordained Jesus, the man:

Acts 17:31 "Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained."
Acts 10:42 "And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the judge of the quick and dead."

There is no way this can be interpreted except that God, the Father, ordained Jesus, the man.

Jesus testified that He and His Father are two:

John 8:16 "And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me."
John 8:17-18 "It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me."

Jesus testifies that he does nothing of his own will:

John 8:28 "Then said Jesus unto them, 'When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.'"
John 5:30 "1 can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

Resurrection came through Jesus the man:

I Cor. 15:21 "For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead."
I. Cor. 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

God is not on His own right hand:

Romans 8:34 "It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."
Acts 7:56 Stephen said "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God."

Obviously, there is a distinction of position here between God the Father, and Jesus. Jesus is not God. He is the "begotten Son". (John 3:16)

God already has His throne. After the resurrection, Jesus stayed with the apostles for forty days. Jesus is now living in Paradise. He said "I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am ye may be also." Since God already had His throne, the Paradise which Jesus prepared for His disciples and followers is different from the ever existing throne of God.

Matt. 5:34 Jesus said to his disciples, "But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: (35) Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King."
Luke 23:43 "And Jesus said unto Him, 'Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.'"

We find the Son, also, is subject to Almighty God, the Father:

I Cor. 15:28 "And when all things shall be subdued unto him then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all."

Almighty God is the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent ruler of all in all.

IV. Regeneration from the View Point of God's Restoration Providence

In the beginning, God planned to set up the original Heavenly Four-Position Foundation centering in God, our real parents, (Adam and Eve) and sinless children, and the result would have been an Earthly Kingdom. This would have been fully realized if Adam and Eve had not fallen. Because of the fall, Satan's Four-Position Foundation was formed, centering in Satan, our. fallen parents (Adam and Eve) who bore fallen, sinful children, and the result has been an Earthly Hell. In this diagram we see the:

In order to restore the Four-Position Foundation, God sent the Second Adam, the restored Adam, who was the Father capacity, and the Holy Spirit, or Mother capacity, in Eve's place. The result is spiritual rebirth by our new parents. Therefore, Jesus' followers become His spiritual children or adopted children. Christians are adopted children in the sight of God.

Paul says in Gal. 4:5 "To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons."
Romans 8:15 "... but ye have received the Spirit of adoption."
Romans 8:23"... even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body."
Eph. 1:5 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will

Thus, Jesus brought spiritual salvation, and we are only spiritual, adopted children.

2. Restored Perfect Adam Capacity

We can see that Jesus came to restore the original Four-Position Foundation. Isaiah 53:10 and Rev. 2-2:16 tell us that Jesus was sent to be the real and perfect Father to mankind as the Second Adam. Jesus restored the First Adam, who was supposed to be the real Father of all mankind. Jesus came to be our true restored parent, to restore and establish the Earthly Kingdom which the First Adam lost. The scriptures tell us:

Romans 5:14 "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come."
I Cor. 5:45 "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Jesus) was made a quickening spirit."
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born his name shall be the everlasting Father."

Jesus came as the everlasting Father to mankind, but Jesus could not fulfill the role of the everlasting Father since He was killed before He completed the fulfillment of this mission. Jesus was supposed to come in the glory of the Father, with the heart of the Father in order to bring the divine love from God to all mankind. This will be fulfilled at the Second Coming.

The Holy Spirit should have been the restored Eve who would have worked with Christ to restore all mankind. This was lost when Jesus was crucified. Because of His early death, He is coming again to fulfill all prophesy.

3. Holy Spirit - Restored Perfect Eve Capacity

The Holy Spirit acts in the capacity of the true Mother. The Holy Spirit was given and sent, to comfort believers like a Mother. Scripture tells us:

John 14:16 Jesus said "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter."
John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

(According to Greek, the Holy Spirit is neuter gender, the English translation is ambiguous in that they translate the Holy Spirit as He.)

The Holy Spirit was to work with, and through the disciples and Christians to testify of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has a job and mission to accomplish through Christianity.

The Holy Spirit acts as the restored woman's spirit, as the Mother Spirit and as the Bride Spirit. That is why believers and Christians are able, as brides, to receive Jesus Christ as the Bridegroom, but only after receiving the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit performs the inspiring work in cleansing of sin.

It is obvious that Jesus and the Holy Spirit cooperate to fulfill the will of God. As we have mentioned, one function of the Holy Spirit is regenerating believers. What is regeneration? How does the Holy Spirit perform regeneration?

Regeneration means rebirth. Regeneration means that fallen mankind can be born by spiritually experiencing new life, by uniting with Jesus our real Father and the Holy Spirit who comes in the capacity of the real Mother. Regeneration is to be reborn of perfect parents; thus, we become adopted children of God.

According to secular law, a man alone cannot adopt a child. There must be the mother's capacity. God planned that children should have both a father and a mother. To become adopted children or Christians, therefore, there always must be the Mother capacity.

According to God's divine law, we have learned every subject must have an object before there is action. Where two things form a reciprocal relation God's work is accomplished. This is the action of give and take which makes it possible for mankind to be reborn through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the subject (or plus), the Holy Spirit is His object (or minus). They form action by give and take, multiplying the power of creation, thus regenerating and saving believers in Christ. Fallen men, who are dead spiritually, are made alive by spiritually uniting with Jesus Christ (the Father's capacity) and the Holy Spirit (the Mother's capacity). Since all mankind lost their true parents, fallen man can be spiritually born again and grafted to Christ and the Holy Spirit, the restored parents.

VI. Trinity

1. Orthodox View on the Trinity

The Orthodox belief is that in the scripture there. are three, Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are recognized as God.

God is the Father according to John 6:27 "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed."

Christ is called God according to John 1:1, 1:14, 1:18, John 20:28, I John 5:20, Romans 9:5, Titus 2:13, and Hebrew 1:8.

The Holy Spirit is called God or recognized as God according to Rom. 8:2, Genesis 1:2, and I Cor. 3:16.

In the Orthodox doctrine these three - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are distinct persons.

This tri-personality of the Divine Nature is eminent and eternal.

This tri-personality of the Divine Nature is not Tritheism: there are three persons, but there is only one essence.

The three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal.

According to the Orthodox belief, they are inscrutable, yet not self-contradictory. This doctrine of the Trinity furnishes the key to all other Orthodox doctrines.

2. God's Viewpoint of the Trinity

a. God's original ideal of a trinity form was to be with the visible Son manifestation of His image, perfect Daughter Adam and Eve. The original trinity was lost and must be restored. God never changes His plan. God cannot lose His original plan.

b. Satan's trinity -- the original trinity form has never been set up. Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, a non-principled trinity was formed with Satan.

c. Restored Spiritual Trinity -- this diagram shows the restored trinity form through Jesus Christ, as Second Adam, and the Holy Spirit. Spiritually, the trinity form is restored and fulfilled through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This brings only spiritual salvation.

The capacity of Adam was restored by Jesus Christ, the Second Adam, the Perfect Adam. The Perfect Eve must also be restored. Holy Spirit could not possess a body.

d. God's Original Trinity Perfected in this diagram we see the original ideal form of the trinity. With the ministry of the Second Coming, the perfect original Trinity will be formed by God, perfected individual man and perfected individual woman.

If Adam and Eve had united in the divine love of God, they could have had oneness with God.

God's original ideal trinity form with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden will be restored and accomplished through the Second Coming Ministry. This will be the Earthly Kingdom of God, centering in God's love and God's will.

Trinity with God will be formed by men and women who have done away with original sin, and who have attained Divine Spirit. Men and women will attain perfection in spirit and body while living on this earth.

At the time of the Second Coming when man's oneness with mankind and with God is accomplished, God will have perfect give and take with this perfect man and woman; there will be harmony and oneness, man will be the Temple of God, the spirit of God will dwell in that perfect man and woman, and they Will possess deity. Then, as a result, perfect parents will fill the earth with righteous, sinless children of God.

Gen. 1:28 "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

As God commanded from the beginning, man shall have Lordship over all things. Man will subdue the earth. Through perfect parents and perfect children God's desire will be accomplished.

This scripture will be fulfilled:

Matthew 6:10 "Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

Summary

1. Man was created to have oneness with God. When man's mind and body have perfect harmony this perfect man will have union with God, he will be the temple of God, possess deity, have communion with God and be a citizen of the Earthly Kingdom.

God always begins His work with one man, and one faithful, obedient man is more important to God than the whole world. To God, each individual is a unique existence in himself, and only the individual can reflect himself to God to become God's image.

Because of the fall the vertical relationship between God and man was severed. Therefore, man must restore the vertical relationship to God, before the horizontal relationship between men will be restored.

2. First Adam and the Second Adam, Jesus, are the same in capacity as Adam, a perfect man-Tree of Life. By disobedience First Adam lost the "Word of God", the future promise for Lordship, dominion, perfect sinless children, and the blessed promise of becoming a perfect man-Tree of Life. Jesus, as the Second Adam, attained perfection as a man, and became Tree of Life.

Eve-Tree of Knowledge, also fell and never attained perfection. Jesus was the restored Adam; the Holy Spirit, the restored Eve capacity. Through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, in the perfect parents capacity, Christians are reborn, and become adopted children in the sight of God.

3. The fallen man possesses no deity. Although Jesus does possess deity, He is not Almighty God, the Father. Jesus Christ is the Son of Man, He called Himself the Son of Man, was obedient to God as a man, and prayed to God as a man. God ordained Jesus, the man, and anointed Him to fulfill the capacity of the Messiah. Jesus is qualified to intercede for mankind. Jesus, followers are grafted to Him, not to God, and we are joint heirs with Christ. Jesus is on the right hand of God, and is also subject to Almighty God, the Father. Jesus is preparing a place for us in Paradise with Him, but God already has His throne in Heaven.

4. The Orthodox belief of the Trinity is that there are three, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are equal, and are recognized as God. This doctrine of the Trinity has furnished the key to all other Orthodox doctrines.

5. God's original Trinity form was to be with the visible manifestation of His image, perfect Adam and perfect Eve. Because of the Fall Satan formed a non-principled trinity with Fallen Adam and Fallen Eve. God's spiritually restored trinity is with Jesus Christ in Adam's capacity, and Holy Spirit in Eve's capacity. With the ministry of the Second Coming, the perfect original Trinity will be formed by God with perfected individual man and perfected individual woman.
